Thank you to all the visitors that came to support Bugfest 5.

With such an exciting range of traders every one went home happy - and there was well over 500 visitors who did so. Kara and Nick would also like to thank all the helpers from Bucklers Mead School and close friends and family who were there to support the day. We are already planning Bugfest 6 so watch this site.

Some of our visitors had this to say:
Thanks for a really enjoyable day, the new traders made it very worthwhile.  The catering was excellent and the general atmosphere was happy and friendly.  This was the best show to date - well done.

What a great event! Our kids loved seeing and interacting with the spiders, snakes and insects.

My daughter has really enjoyed herself and gained knowledge on different bugs. Very interesting. Well done.

Just wanted to say what a fabulous time I had at Bugfest. My two boys who are 6 and 2 thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The stamp collecting was brilliant and the 6 year old doesn't want his tattoo to ever come off!

Thanks so much for a great day out which was fun and affordable.

The traders were really welcoming and happy to spend time talking to you.  It was great to see children involved in the running of the stalls too.  Thanks again.

What is Bugfest?
Bugfest is an entomological (creepy crawly) exhibition held at Bucklers Mead Sports Centre, Yeovil, where traders from across the country exhibit, sell and offer advice on invertebrates from crabs to stick insects. There are also lots of other stalls including those selling books, crafts, insect housing and  children's craft stalls. There is also a children's 'spot the bug' quiz with small prizes to be won!
Smaller workshops are regularly held during school holidays which are primarily aimed at children who can come and meet Nick and his collection of bugs, ask questions and handle insects. Nick also visits schools and groups to talk about his ever growing collection of creatures.

Who runs Bugfest?
Bugfest consists of a husband and wife team, Nick and Kara Wadham, ably assisted by family, friends and volunteers, who decided to bring the creepy crawly world to Somerset. The popularity of the first event was a complete surprise as 1000 visitors attended. Now Bugfest is going from strength to strength, drawing notoriety and attention to the South West!
