What is Bugfest SW?

Bugfest South West is an entomological show which exhibits and sells invertebrates (creepy crawlies) and arachnids (spiders) from all over the world. It also has an amazing choice of other general interest stands selling items from jewellery to shells, plenty of activities for children plus food and drink.

The first Bugfest SW was held on 23rd February 2008 and attracted 967 visitors to Holy Trinity Church in Yeovil, exceeding everyone's expectations. The next Bugfest is coming soon so keep watching this web space!

We attracted significant local press coverage and are confident at repeating this success at the next Bugfest, this summer.


 

Bugfest is a local community event, run by volunteers to promote education on and survival of invertebrates. Our whole ecosystem would fail without them.

After each Bugfest event (if a profit is made) money will be donated to charity.

Donations to date:

23.02.07 Money was donated to the Nephrotic Syndrome trust, based in Bristol's childrens' hospital. This charity was chosen as the Vicar of the Church we used as a venue has a son with this debilitating kidney disease. As the Church & Community centre were so supportive and accommodating and would not let us donate any further money towards them, we felt this would be an appropriate gesture.
