Bugfest Carnival of Monsters was attended by well over 700 visitors on a sunny Saturday, February 2009. However the credit crunch did not deter visitors, volunteers and traders digging deep into their pockets for charity to raise a whopping £300 for the South West children's hospice which cares for terminally ill children and their families.
Organiser Kara Wadham said, 'It was a privilege to organise an event for such a worthwhile cause. It was great to see so many people doing their bit for charity whilst their own children had great fun with the bugs and daleks!'
The money raised was from ticket sales, plus traders donating a percentage of their profit to the hospice. CHSW volunteers Jan and Eric Mowlem also ran a stall on the day and expressed their gratitude to the Bugfest team. ' I would like to thank all your lovely volunteers,' said Jan. 'It is a truly wonderful amount.'
